The success of your body piercing depends on your commitment to aftercare. If your piercing is neglected, or irritated by bad habits like playing with the jewellery, it may have problems healing.
Please allow your body to heal without its natural healing process and try not to use any harsh chemicals, soaps, essential oils or ointments.
Clean your piercing twice a day using a sterile saline solution. You can buy NeilMed spray sold at the studio. We highly recommend this spray due to its ease of use. Never twist or rotate your jewellery. Avoid alcohol or peroxide-based cleaners as they can irritate your skin.
No! Always avoid touching, twisting, or moving your piercing unnecessarily. Touching with unwashed hands introduces bacteria and can cause infection. Your jewellery should stay still so the tissue can heal properly around it.
Healing times vary by piercing type, but most ear, nose, and facial piercings take 3-6 months to fully heal. Navel and some cartilage piercings can take up to 12 months. Even if your piercing looks healed on the outside, the inside may still be delicate. Keep cleaning it throughout the healing period.
No swimming in pools, lakes, or hot tubs for the first few weeks.Avoid sleeping on your new piercing.Keep hair, makeup, and skincare products away from the area. Don’t change your jewellery too early and wait until your piercer confirms it’s safe.
Some redness, tenderness, or light crusting is normal in the early stages. However, severe pain, swelling, yellow or green pus, or a hot sensation can indicate infection. Please seek professional advice if you notice these signs.
